03/17/2000 Snapcase, Boysetsfire, Turmoil, Bughouse (Rochester, NY @ Water Street Music Hall)

Not that I was ever the biggest hardcore fan, but I knew enough to go see Snapcase when they came down the Thruway. It was only $10 to get in, and it’s not like we could legally drink in the bars yet, so it being St. Patrick’s Day didn’t matter much (we celebrated that later at the apartment, which is a whole other story). Rafal joined Mary and I for this one, and for our $10 we got to see four bands, not a bad deal.

Bughouse was a local Rochester band, and I recall not being into their set at all. Turmoil was a hardcore band from Philly, and the only thing I remember about them is what I said at the time, that the lead singer looked like he was straight out of a Abercrombie ad. Boysetsfire was decent (we didn’t really know anything about them either), and Snapcase played a great set. A lot of new stuff from the two-month old Designs for Automotion, but mixed in quite a bit of the old as well.

No clue on the exact setlist, but I Found some setlists from a month prior that were probably quite close to what we saw:
Energy Dome
Cognition
Caboose
Bleeding Orange
She Suffocates
Zombie Prescription
Ambition Now
Typecast Modulator
Incarnation
Target
Steps
Looking Glass Self
Harrison Bergeron
Drain Me
