I haven't been to a Warped Tour since 2001-2002? If I'm going to get my ass burned up, Rocket From The Crypt better be playing. #badreligion #rancid #nofx #saveferris #cherrypoppindaddies #thespecials #deftones #civ #thereverendhortonheat #snapcase #unwrittenlaw #all #swinginutters #voodooglowskulls #dropkickmurphys #kidrock #thesmooths #aquabats #98mute #ozomatli #fumanchu #buffalo #buffalohardcore #lasallepark #vans #warpedtour 📸 @j_f_doom

I primarily went to see the Deftones, but ended up seeing a ton of quality bands, whether I knew what I was watching at that point or not. I started out by wandering over to the smaller trailer stage to catch Kid Rock: watched two songs, promptly labeled him a Limp Bizkit ripoff, and walked away… doh! Little did I know, right? I’d occasionally peek at the main stage, but for most of the day I was planted at the two side stages. When the alternating stages start with Snapcase, then follow with NOFX, Bad Religion, Rancid, the Reverend Horton Heat, and the Deftones, there’s not much reason to move. In fact, the only time I did move was after the Deftones set, when me and practically everyone else moved to the side of the state where Chino was signing stuff, and sure enough I got an autograph on (of all things) my school planner!

Found the Deftones setlist: Lotion, My Own Summer, Root, 7 Words, Around The Fur, Be Quiet And Drive, Headup

Beyond those bands, I know for sure I watched part of Ozolmati, the Mad Caddies, CIV, the Aquabats, Cherry Poppin Daddies, and Dropkick, but have zero real recollection of any of those sets unfortunately.

Finally, the freebies given away at the various tents at this show proved to have some formative musical qualities, as I got a copy of the Sampler CD for the tour, which led to my first exposure to Cold, 2 Skinnee J’s, and Rammstein. The other sampler was from Victory Records, with 2 songs apiece from Snapcase’s “Progression Through Unlearning”, Hatebreed’s “Satisfaction is the Death of Desire”, and Thumb’s “Exposure”, all of which I ended up eventually buying.

This clip of “Be Quiet And Drive” is a compilation from the 1998 Warped Tour. Whether any of the Buffalo show is in here or not I have no idea, but I figured it was relevant anyway.

Thanks to this site (Laurie’s Shows), Bad Religion’s setlist: Recipe For Hate/Change Of Ideas/Do What You Want/Punk Rock Song/I Want to Conquer the World/21st Century (Digital Boy)/Hear It/Part III/A Walk/Generator/American Jesus/Infected/Fuck Armageddon… This is Hell
