08/13/2000 George Thorogood, Bernard Allison (Buffalo, NY @ Erie Basin Marina)

By Eric | August 13, 2000 11:59 pm

This was a free show under the banner of “Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor”; Sara went with me for the hell of it. Bernard Allison was the opener and a hell of a guitar player, following in his famous father’s footsteps (he’s Luther Allison’s son). I remember him playing a nice tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

George Thorogood played all the usual hits, plus some stuff I didn’t know. This show ended up being a fun show to people-watch at also, there were tons of white trash, and at times they were more entertaining than the show itself! They estimated 25,000 people would show up, The TV news said they actually drew 35,000 to this gig, I didn’t think they could fit that many people down there!
