10/11/2009 Every Time I Die, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects (Rochester, NY @ Water Street Music Hall)

[Oh, Sleeper was on the bill also but I didn’t catch them.]

I wandered in during a set change after getting home from the Bills game, and hit up the merch booth, only to be greeted with the site of an ETID Bills-themed shirt! I promptly scored one of those (from Jordan Buckley himself), and wandered off in search of my buddy from NT, Art. Found him, and then we met up with his friend Leo, and we parked ourselves in the back corner to watch Architects. They were fine, but I really wasn’t paying that much attention. Bring Me The Horizon was next, and while their sound/style isn’t the sort of metal I’m into, they were fun to watch, and had quite a few kids there to see them. Lots of energy for sure. And speaking of energy, Every Time I Die brought plenty themselves. Considering their “hometown” show in Buffalo was the night before, they still had a lot left in the tank for the final night of this tour. The kids down front were just as rowdy for them, which made for a great spectacle in the back. Art and I parked right in front of the soundboard and took it all in. As Art said, “I remember Andy giving me a CD-R demo of stuff back in the day, and now look at them.” Indeed. The set was slanted towards the last two albums, which is fine with me as I really, really like the just-released New Junk Aesthetic. Great to see the local boys do well.

ETID Setlist (pretty sure this is right):
Roman Holiday
The Marvelous Slut
Ebolorama
Bored Stiff
No Son Of Mine
Cities and Years
Floater
Wanderlust
Kill The Music
For The Record
Apocalypse Now and Then
I Been Gone A Long Time

We’rewolf
