So Sophomore slump here. The songs actually got better, Daughtry sounds better, and there’s a nice mix of the full-on rockers along with the poppy stuff you know would show up. A high-quality pop-rock release.

Review:
Believe it or not, this album is actually pretty decent. They didn’t go “all sappy with one rocker” on this one, rather, these songs are somewhat interesting, almost as if Tremonti was allowed to do what he wanted as opposed to what the record company wanted. Scott Stapp still has cheesy lyrics, but this is a far cry from what they were doing before. If this had come out instead of Weathered, perhaps Creed wouldn’t be so maligned.

A supergroup of sorts, with Keith Buckley and Josh Newton from Every Time I Die, Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano from Anthrax, and Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman from Fall Out Boy; The Damned things sounds nothing like any of their groups, and more like a homage to 70’s rock like Thin Lizzy and the like. And Keith actually sings, and sings well!
