Review:
The G-punk kings first album. A buddy of mine in the high school co-op used to rock this in his car, and I liked what I heard. Finding it for a buck when Discovery was still open was even better.

#One In A Million
Review:
This was on the other side of the Appetite tape I had. One In a Million was the most scandalous song we’d ever heard up till then. I prefer this version of You’re Crazy to the Appetite version, and the not-really-live tracks were pretty damn good too (they were really studio versions with crowd noise overdubbed).

Review:
I think I had a tape copy of this album from a friend’s older brother when I was 8 or 9. I’m sure my parents loved having their kid running around trying to belt out Sweet Child O Mine all the time. This album is simply a classic, and there’s no bad songs on here whatsoever.

Review:
The ‘major label’ debut from the band (Satisfaction’ was released by Victory Records) cleans up the sound and the production a bit, but eliminates none of the agression and hostility. Most songs have the scream-along choruses, and Jamey has some positive things to say. I like this a lot more than Satisfaction (which is blasphemy to most Hatebreed fans).

Review:
Straight-up hardcore from one of the masters of the genre. Jamey is pissed, but he puts a positive spin on it. The riffs are heavy as hell, and the songs all go at breakneck speed. This is a tad off from their previous two albums, but that’s not to say this one isn’t good in its own right. It sounds just like Perseverence and Supremacy do.

A side project from Ben Sheppard, bassist from Soundgarden. It’s kinda weird, but okay for a once in awhile listen.

Review:
The Connecticut hardcore kings’ latest offering follows in the footsteps of their last two discs, with clean, tight production, and the metallic riffs. The crunch is still there, and the yell-alongs throughout the disc still make it distinctly Hatebreed. The only thing is, there isn’t a whole lot of growth from the last two discs either. If you like Hatebreed, you’ll like it. If you’re just getting into them, get Perseverance first. Standout tracks include Defeatist, Destroy Everything, and Never Let It Die.

Review:
The first and still classic Hatebreed record. The production is a bit rougher than the discs that follow this, but it is here that the band gained their underground following and laid out their ‘hardcore meets metal’ sound. I’ve actually known about these guys since 1998 when I got two songs from this album (Before Dishonor and Last Breath) off of a tape sampler from the Warped Tour. Even though its a classic, I like the sound of the later albums a bit more.

This is a great compilation, because when Axl actually decided to show up GNR was a top notch live band, and this shows it. Almost reads like a Greatest Hits tracklist.
