listing the greenwheel

Saturday, October 12th, 2002

A greenwheel setlist! Signed! The rest of the show was pretty good as well, and I had a fun night afterwards hanging out with Tiffany… I’m getting dragged out the door currently, so the rest of the details will be forthcoming 🙂

Soulflying

Friday, October 11th, 2002

Thursday… yeah, well, the morning went a little rough, endured another totally blah needs assessment class, and then off to work…. Network Programming was worthwhile this time around (yay TCP!) and then… back to work! I got out a bit early, Jordan came and picked me up, and it was off to SOULFLY!!! There were 3 opening bands! Hometown boys Stemm were one of them…. anyway, the review will most likely be up tomorrow, but the show was awesome, Max is awesome, and getting some of that pent-up anger out was a really good thing 🙂 Came back and had a couple beers with Joe and Scott, and now I’m typing this when I should be sleeping… because work comes too early at 7:30 tomorrow…. I have no idea what Im doing during the day, but the Hoobastank/Greenwheel show is at 8, and who knows after that, the slate is clean so far… and I really should be getting to bed now eh? 🙂
current mood: a little tipsy, a little sleepy, a lot blah

turn the page

Thursday, October 10th, 2002

Farewell, good-bye
God knows we tried
Our union so unsure
Could never endure
So we turn the page
say good-bye
and walk away from everything
that we worked so hard to save
Brought down by our storm
Our eden is no more
But we were so lost in love
That we never found resolve
So we turn the page
say good-bye
and walk away from everything
that we worked so hard to save
I don’t wanna start all over
and try and find another shoulder
to lean on
’cause yours made me feel safe
Now you’re moving on
this is my blessing
please stay strong
for what it’s worth I’m wishing you the best…
So we turn the page
say good-bye
and walk away from everything
that we worked so hard to save

wonder who’s next on the court

Tuesday, October 8th, 2002

As predicted… I barely kept awake in Needs Assessment, and I got a 100 on my midterm in there… so all that rest is paying off 🙂 hehe. Work was cool, primarily lunch… 🙂 My Network Programming midterm went well as far as I could tell, the “writing out some code” part wasnt too bad at all… and the TFTP packet question wasnt hard once I waded through all the reading of the RFC… Was too lazy to go home, so I headed back to ETC to chill for a little bit… even did a 4 o’clock job for them out of the goodness of my heart hehehe. Came home and plopped myself in front of the computer for awhile… then mom called, the parents are actually coming up on Saturday… should be a fun and interesting time! Mom wants to see me make a fool of myself up on the karaoke stage 🙂 hehe. Karl came over, and we headed to the mall for some grub, and walked around some… it was college night. Hey Amanda, Wooster was actually there, and the guy had a yellow and black plaid tie on!
Then on to Best Buy, where we were going to purchase the new Chevelle CD, “Wonder What’s Next”, for $5.99. We would have, only they didn’t have any! As in, I asked the kid working, he said they got 25 copies, and sold them all… and I’m thinking, who in God’s name is buying Chevelle? Well, besides us of course. But I didn’t think it was going to be this popular of an album! I know “The Red” has been all over radio and MTV, but still, Best Buy sells out the first day? Incredible… so off to Target, I figured, we may as well, who knows, they might have it. Sure enough! $6.99! I’ll pay an extra dollar, no complaints… and they only had like 6 or 7 copies… so either the shipping quantities were really low, or it really is that popular…

Where were all you dipshits when Point #1 came out? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Chevelle who? mmm hmm…

ok I feel better now… so after that, it was off to play racquetball.. reserved Court 4 at 9pm…. two freshmen in there, we gave them till 9, and then politely tapped on the door… times up guys. “blah blah blah the lady told us we had till 9:15 yadda yadda” uhhh, no. So the kids close the door and start playing again! Karl was having no part of that… meanwhile, I went to the desk… “Nope, they’re done at 9.” So the manager comes down and boots em, cuz they were having no part of Karl… see ya later fuckers… likely story… I got whipped again, but I’m getting better… hehe. Actually made a couple nice shots, and had a couple nice returns… and my fair share of dumb moves too, dont get me wrong hehe. So back here now, writing this, maybe I’ll start in on the Network Programming Lab. That’d be fun. 🙂
Cheap plug: http://www.homestarrunner.com. BenMo and the other ETC crew got me hooked on this goofy flash cartoon site! “Awww, things were just about to start getting CrazyGoNuts!!!”

a friendly gathering

Thursday, October 3rd, 2002

So racquetball was fun… lost the first game, and Karl kinda went easy on me the 2nd game and I actually beat him! heheh. I’m moving up in the world! Amy and Betsy came up from Geneseo, cuz they were craving Friendly’s for some reason hehe… so they rounded up me and Adam, and Karl came with us too…. did the usual idiot college students in a restaurant thing (well, me and Karl did anyway!), came back to the house and watched the end of the baseball game, some MTV and then SNL reruns…. Faith No More was on from like 1989! hehe! (and they’re keyboard player had on an OLD SCHOOL Soundgarden shirt… prolly from Ultramega… it was cool, yes Im a dork!) Time for sleepy, long day tomorrow, sounds like its ending with some sort of celebration, not sure exactly what we’re doing yet though….

makin a run

Tuesday, October 1st, 2002

After football I helped out Rachel with her Director project a little… I’m a bit rusty on that stuff myself, its been a whole summer! hehe. Needs Assessment was a snoozer this morning, blah… work was cool, then Network Programming was free time, as in ask questions if you have any, or just work on your labs. I’d rather work here, so I poked around on it for a half hour, got the correct start packet sending…. and called it a day after about 35 minutes. Came home, and took off for the CD/Thrift run on a tuesday…. heheh…. The Archive is doing $5 CD’s all the time now, so I can go whenever the whim strikes me… hehehe… today’s pickups were the Roadrunner re-release of Nickelback’s Curb, and I completed my Pantera collection, finally getting Cowboys From Hell. A little dinner later, and I’m about to start in on the programming lab. Fun wow!
Current mood: full from dinner

do who you want to, look what it got you

Any Other Way
Theory of a Deadman
“You’ve tried to open your mouth but only shit would come out
I always wondered where you got it from
You haven’t heard a damn word I’ve said,
you never believed in anything I did
I don’t care what you’re doing,
do what you want to, look what it got you
You can’t help yourself
I know you’ll never change
You say you don’t need anyone
And wouldn’t have it any other way
Just try to open your eyes and try my life on for size
I always wondered who you’re hiding from
You haven’t heard a damn word I’ve said,
you never believed in anything I did
I don’t care who you’re doing,
do who you want to, look what it got you
Well you can’t help yourself
I know you’ll never change
You say you don’t need anyone
And wouldn’t have it any other way
Oh you made a big mistake, and won’t admit it
You say you don’t need anyone
Oh you made a big mistake, so don’t forget it
I know you’ll never change, and wouldn’t have it any other way
You can’t help yourself
I know you’ll never change
You say you don’t need anyone
You say you don’t need anyone
You say you don’t need anyone
You’ve tried to open your mind and leave your last life behind
I always wondered what you’re running from
Oh you made a big mistake, and won’t admit it
You say you don’t need anyone
Oh you made a big mistake, so don’t forget it
I know you’ll never change, and wouldn’t have it any other way
You say you don’t need anyone, anyway
You say you don’t need anyone, and wouldn’t have it any other way
You say you don’t need anyone, anyway
You say you don’t need anyone, and wouldn’t have it any other way”

hard rockin the audioslave

Monday, September 30th, 2002

Well, the weather service thingy was pretty cool, just a bunch of computers and instruments really, but still pretty cool…. Saturday night I picked up Adrienne and we did the drive aimlessly thing for awhile, then met up with Sara and Nate who were working at Hard Rock, about 11 a group of kids from the Niagara Falls HS homecoming dance rolled in, so we had entertainment for a while…. after Sara got off work we went to the bar in the Travellodge down the street. where me and Nate again played bubble hockey, and I got my ass kicked this time around… hehe. Sunday I got up late, then set to work on the Escort…. didnt plan to, but since my battery light was flickering on and off, I figured it might be good to look at. Yeah, turns out the fuseable links that control flow from the alternator to the battery were not in the best state of repair, so me and Dad tackled that…. got that done, and we were still able to watch the 2nd half of the Bills game! Went and picked up Chinese food for dinner, and after watching the end of the Chargers/Pats game, and Prime Time, I headed back for RIT. Got here, sat around a bit, Karl came over… made a quick Wegmans run, and came back to watch the end of the Seahawks slaughter of the Vikings over a couple beers…. quite relaxing! One episode of the Brak show and then Space Ghost, and its now time for bed…. zzzzzzz
New audioslave images from the street team site! 🙂

5 minutes alone

Saturday, September 28th, 2002

” I see you had your mind all made up
You group of pitiful liars.
Before I woke to face the day,
Your master plan transpired.
-Something told me-
This job had more to meet the eye.
My song is not believed?
My words somewhat deceiving?
Now I’m unwhole.”
“YOU’VE WAGED A WAR OF NERVES, BUT YOU CAN’T CRUSH THE KINGDOM”
