Review:

More epic-ness from those that do it best. Tool comes back five years after Lateralus with another progressive album with no song clocking in at less than seven minutes. It’s an awful lot to digest, and as a couple of the Amazon reviews have said, you have to be in the right frame of mind. I’m usually not, and so I find it hard to listen to all at once. I usually turn it off and go back to AEnima, which is a bit more accessible. I find the songs on here a bit too long, and too experimental for my taste. However, it’s Tool, which means it’s automatically going to be good, just not as good as some of their others.

#Dirt Off Your Shoulder ~ Lying From You
#Big Pimpin ~ Papercut
#Jigga What ~ Faint
#Numb ~ Encore
#Izzo ~ In The End
#Points Of Authority ~ 99 Problems ~ One Step Closer

Review:

The ultimate rap-rock combination, or at least according to MTV. LP and Jay-Z mash up their tracks together, and perform them live on the DVD. It’s actually pretty cool, all snark aside, but I think I’d been Linkin Park’d out by the time this came around, so I never truly got into it (as you can see by purchasing it 4 years after it came out).

Review:

The follow-up to 94’s Antenna is a down and dirty bluesy rocker. Many fans feel this is one of their strongest albums, which says a lot considering they’d been at it for 25 years or so by this point.

Review:

I’m still not sure why I keep buying Korn albums, I just keep getting disappointed. Perhaps I’m nostalgic for 1994-2000 era Korn, or maybe they really do just suck now. However, I feel obligated to continue collecting the discography. This album is admittedly better than the last three or four, and is easily the most eclectic album they’ve ever done. I gotta listen to it some more.

I feel like no record collection from a child of the 80’s could be complete without this. Everyone knows most of the songs on here, and you’ve all sung along at one point or another. Just a must-have.

Janis Joplin – 1973 – Greatest Hits

By Eric | December 23, 2013 1:00 am

Artist: Janis Joplin
Title: Greatest Hits
Label: Columbia
Released: Jul 1, 1973
Packaging: Jewel Case
Pack-in DVD
Release Type: Standard
Autographed

Tracklist:

#Piece Of My Heart
#Summertime
#Try (Just A Little Harder)
#Cry Baby
#Me And Bobby McGee
#Down On Me (Live)
#Get It While You Can
#Bye, Bye Baby
#Move Over
#Ball And Chain (Live)

Review:

From Amazon:

More than Cheap Thrills or even Pearl, Greatest Hits has helped keep Janis Joplin’s short-lived recording career alive for listeners who came along after her 1970 death. “Me and Bobby McGee” is the biggest draw, of course–it was a posthumous No. 1 single–but the rest is equally exciting. Despite the familiarity of the titles here, this goes far beyond the merely serviceable. Finally, the cover photo of Janis smiling in a sunny park is as poignant a shot of her as exists.
