Artist: Stabbing Westward
Title: Ungod
Label: Columbia
Released: Feb 15, 1994

Autographed

Tracklist:

#Lost
#Control
#Nothing
#ACF
#Lies
#Ungod
#Throw
#Violent Mood Swings
#Red On White
#Can’t Happen Here

Review:

Their first release, and it really didn’t do much for the band. Tons of comparisons to NIN which aren’t completely warranted. The pop-industrial brought out here isn’t bad at all, and some of the songs are really really good. Ungod the song sounds quite similar to Filter’s Hey Man Nice Shot, and with good reason, as they were written by the same person. Chris Hall’s lyrics about lost love are depressing as hell.

After hearing Plowed and Molly on the radio for so long, I decided to check out the rest of the album, and it sounds much like the two singles, which isn’t bad.

Review:

Another band I found off the Megadeth sampler. A slow, grungy sound, reminds one of a cross between Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, with a little bit of [Re]Load-era Metallica thrown in. These guys got zero recognition, but this is a quality listen.

The belated second album, which was every bit as good as the first one, but was released to even lesser fanfare. At least these guys got to make a second album before breaking up.

Review:

I initially saw these guys at one of the Buffalo Edgefests and liked them, and the single ‘Yeah, Whatever’ well enough. The album is also quite good, and while they sound like most other pop-rock bands, there’s just something better about this band.

I have most everything released on here on their real albums, except the Chad Kroeger/Josey Scott ‘Hero’ duet, and the new Black Lab song ‘Learn To Crawl’. Aerosmith doing the Spider-Man theme is pretty cool too.

I’ve listened to this one a bit more than the first one. They changed their style somewhat, making the songs a little faster and harder than before, almost trying to go nu-metal.

By Eric | December 23, 2013 1:00 am

Artist: Soundtrack
Title: Spawn: The Album
Label: Immortal / Epic / Sony Music Soundtrax
Released: Jul 29, 1997
Packaging: Jewel Case
Pack-in DVD
Release Type: Standard

Tracklist:

#(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do
#Long Hard Road Out Of Hell

#Torn Apart
#Skin Up Pin Up
#One Man Army
#Spawn
#T-4 Strain
#Familiar
#No Remorse (I Wanna Die)
#A Plane Scraped It’s Belly On A Sooty Yellow Moon

Review:

As opposed to all the rap-rock collaborations, this one put together the rock with techno artists, with mostly good results. Some are original songs like the Filter/Crystal Method, Kirk Hammett/Orbital, and Incubus/DJ Greyboy tracks, while others are simply remixes of existing songs, like the Stabbing Westward/Wink remix of Torn Apart. For someone that really isn’t into techno like me, this aint too bad.

Tracklist:

#Fly Like An Eagle
#The Winner
#Space Jam
#I Believe I Can Fly
#Hit ‘Em High (The Monstars’ Anthem)

#Upside Down (‘Round-N-‘Round)
#Givin’ U All That I’ve Got
#Basketball Jones
#I Turn To You
#All Of My Days
#That’s The Way (I Like It)
#Buggin’

Review:

A fun sountrack that Tiff had. The Monstars anthem (Hit ‘Em High) has none other than B-Real (from Cypress Hill), Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J and Method Man all on one track, and the song is actually good! Also noteable for Seal’s cover of Fly Like An Eagle, and R. Kelly’s I Believe I Can Fly.
