The album that made me a Staind fan. Nu-metal with a frontman that could sing and scream, and do them both well. Combine that with a great live show and you have a success.

Review:

I had actually seen Staind while they were touring this album, but as a result of not really paying attention, I made no connection till I saw them open for Kid Rock a year later. This is Staind at their most raw, with Aaron Lewis doing a lot more screaming and less singing. The tracks show what the band was about to become, and that is angsty nu-metal at its finest.

Sponge came back after some personnel changes and made a respectable third album. I think it pales in comparison to Wax Ecstatic, but there’s still some decent tunes on here.

#So Far Away (Acoustic)
#Wasted (Acoustic)

Review:

Uh oh, someone might actually be starting to get happy! Not quite. The music is markedly different from the first three albums, taking out a lot of the programming and darkness,
which was a step in the wrong direction if you ask me. This is a Best Buy Exclusive edition with an extra 2-track acoustic disc .

Review:

The one had a bonus track called Slower Suicide. According to Wikipedia it was the European version of the album, and the disc said it was printed in Austria, but I’ll be damned if I know why Record Archive had it for $5 mixed in with everything else!

Stabbing Westward – 1998 – Darkest Days

Packaging: Jewel Case
Pack-in DVD
Release Type: Standard
Autographed

Tracklist:

#Darkest Days
#Everything I Touch
#How Can I Hold On

#Haunting Me
#Torn Apart
#Sometimes It Hurts
#Drowning
#Desperate Now
#Goodbye
#When I’m Dead
#The Thing I Hate
#On Your Way Down
#Waking Up Beside You

Review:

Even though commerically it was a disappointment, I think this was easily their best album. From Wikipedia: Darkest Days is a concept album made up of 4 acts, each portraying a different emotional phase gone through after a break-up. The first act (Tracks 1-4) is about sabotaging the relationship. The second act (Tracks 5-9) is about lust, hope, and longing. The third act (Tracks 10-12) is about hitting rock bottom after it’s all over. The fourth act (13-16) is about recovery and self-respect.

Stabbing Westward – 1996 – Wither Blister Burn & Peel

By Eric | December 23, 2013 1:00 am

Artist: Stabbing Westward
Title: Wither Blister Burn & Peel
Label: Columbia
Released: Jan 23, 1996
Packaging: Jewel Case
Pack-in DVD
Release Type: Standard
Autographed

Tracklist:

#Don’t Believe
#Shame
#What Do I Have To Do’
#Why
#Inside You
#Falls Apart
#So Wrong
#Crushing Me
#Sleep
#Slipping Away

Review:

This album got them over. Between Shame, and What Do I Have To Do, SW became a household name. The rest of the album is equally as good and improves on the pop-industrial they started with Ungod. Chris Hall continues to wallow in his misery.
