A friend in high school liked these guys, and dragged me to see them in Niagara Falls. I remember nothing other than Super Bon Bon from that show, but I then picked up this album, and the quirky, jazzy sound grew on me. Nothing if not interesting!

Review:

Someone on Amazon put it best: Imagine if Pantera and Sublime had a kid, who then slept around with 311, and you’d get Snot. Punk and metal, but with some of that laid back Cali vibe. Plus, who can resist screaming along to such gems as a song called ‘Snot” RIP Lynn Strait.

The follow up to Irresistable Bliss was just as interesting, and at times even more instrumentally varied. Led to their most popular single, Circles, and I was always partial to St. Louise is Listening.

#City Of Motors
#Uh, Zoom, Zip
#Down To This

Review:

The very first Soul Coughing album, and as many fans argue, their best. The ‘slacker jazz’ sound the band played was introduced here, and certainly ranks among the most eclectic stuff I own. Doughty straddles the line between rap and beat poetry while being neither, but it works. I think SC is one of those bands that you either love or hate, and even if you love them, sometimes one can only take them in smaller doses.

Something that not everyone got to experience, a live Snot show, now available to everyone. The band is in top form, and as a nice extra, a bonus demo track called ‘Choose What’ from what would have been the second album.
