Edwin McCain is one of Tiffany’s favorite artists. His debut album (one album before ‘I’ll Be’ became huge) features a duet with Darius Rucker (a.k.a. Hootie) on ‘Solitude’.

Review:
This band was recommended to me by people on the old Our Lady Peace board, and the recommendation was a good one. Straight up rock and roll, but Myles Kennedy has a soaring voice that makes you take notice.

I kinda bought this just to have it. Aside from the singles, I don’t really know this album that well, and was never into Manson that much.

Review:
The second Matt Good solo disc, he got a little weirder with his lyrical content on this one, although some of the songs seem to be protesting American culture in various ways. A little more stripped down than Avalanche was, and much like that album, this one was a slow burn for me, but I really enjoy it now.

Review:
After dropping the “Band”, Matt Good struck out on his own. It took me a while to get into this CD, but once I did, I enjoyed it immensely. It’s easy to tell that Matt was indeed the driving force behind the “Band”, because there’s no drop off in quality from those releases to this one.

Review:
I actually found this ‘used’ at an FYE store in Rochester for 5 bucks. I put “used” in quotes because this album was never released in the US at all, and who knows how it ended up in a national chain’s used bin. Adding to the oddness, this is the limited edition, which included a slipcase and a booklet containing the lyrics to all 4 MGB albums and the 3 EPs. A nice collectors item. Musically, a lot of the songs were longer and more involved than anything that preceeded it, and it took a little getting into, but at the end of the day, it’s still an MGB album.

A collection of b-sides that was released right before The Audio of Being, including Matt attempting a take on the Mr. Rogers trolley theme. I stress “attempting”.

Review:
This is the American version, but Atlantic decided that they couldn’t leave well enough alone, and decided to drop I Miss New Wave, Let’s Get It On, and Going All The Way, and add remixed versions of three Underdogs songs (Deep Six, Apparitions, and Everything Is Automatic) in their place. Not stopping there, they also decided that ‘machine gun’ and ‘kill’ were too naughty of words to put on the back cover in their respective song titles (A Boy and His Machine Gun and Born To Kill). Adding to the insult, it wasn’t released until 2001 (it came out in Canada in 1999) right before The Audio of Being was about to come out in Canada.
