Review:
Roadrunner finally released this in the format and order it was originally supposed to be in. It tends to drag in some spots, but overall, it was worth putting out the whole collection as opposed to the single disc that came out six months earlier.

Review:
Jerry’s 2nd solo outing, it was originally supposed to be a double disc with 25 songs, but Roadrunner initially forced him to cull 14 for a one disc release. I’m not necessarily sure that they were the best 14, and the order was completely changed from how the double-disc was eventually released, but this satisfied the demand for material from Jerry after a 4 year absence.

Jerry’s first solo album is good, but it leaves one longing for AIC stuff. Having said that, there’s some really good songs on this, and you can tell that Jerry has writing chops away from Alice.

After the wild success of Short Skirt Long Jacket, this next album didn’t sell nearly as well, and some of the songs weren’t up to par with other Cake albums. It’s still decent, it’s still Cake, so I love it, but it’s at the bottom of the list for me.

Had a friend in high school that owned this, and we listed to The Distance, I Will Survive, and Nugget far too many times. Once I owned it, I discovered the rest of the album is just as great and quirky, much like the rest of the band’s catalog. This is the one that put them on the map.

The first in a long line of quirky albums from these guys. It took me until just recently to find out that a ‘Bad Moto Guzzi’ is a motorcycle, and not a play on words for Soundgarden’s ‘Badmotorfinger’. I have the remastered version that was put out after the band hit the mainstream.
