Review:

More Human Than Human was a radio staple in high school, and the rest of the electronic-influenced metal on this disc kept up with that. Campy and creepy, just what you’d expect from Rob Zombie.

A heavy electronic influence on these 9 original songs, plus a remix of Stereo. A second disc was included as sort of a greatest hits career retrospective.

Review:

David Usher’s third solo album is much more mellow than Morning Orbit was, and continues in the pop direction. It certainly shows Usher continuing to move away from the sound that Moist had.

#Black Black Heart 2.0

Review:

A definate pop direction on the second solo disc, but he makes it work. There’s enough guitars to keep me happy. The attempt at Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ I’m not so sure about, but the second version of ‘Black Black Heart’ with Jeff Martin is a treat.

Review:

The Moist frontman went his own way for a bit after Creature, and it comes off sounding rough and unpolished, which is kinda cool. It was recorded live in his kitchen, and is mainly an acoustic record with some programming in the background. A good mellow, chill listen.

The second album expanded on the first with a lot more melody, and better crafted songs. The electronics are still there
but they pick their spots a little better.

Review:

I suppose they were industrial metal, sort of. A lot of electronics, but a lot of real instrumentation. Pete Murray’s vocals alternate between singing and decent screaming. I acutally got a two-track tape promo for this at New World Records way back in the day.

Review:

Their Roadrunner debut rocks hard, and in keeping with the promise of the indie, delivers a well-balanced attack of riffs and solos, and switches between the screaming and actual singing, with actual melody. They weren’t trying to sound like Metallica quite yet.
