The indie CD put out by these young metalheads. The singer can certainly scream, and the songs crunch, but they find room for some good solos and more intricate moments.

Even though Headstrong got beat to death, the rest of the album is actually not that bad. Your garden variety alt-rock band.

Review:
One of the better movie soundtracks to come out in awhile, and has a good mix of rock and techno tracks. There’s even a pop ballad by the Goo Goo Dolls, of all people. The Disturbed track is pretty decent for a b-side, the new Pumpkins track is cool, Styles of Beyond featuring Shinoda could have been on the Fort Minor record, and I’m also excited about the Julien-K song, as that band features Ryan and Amir from Orgy. For five bucks at the Archive, I’m certainly not going to miss picking this up!

This album started a little bit of an experimental trend in the band, in the sense that the song structures weren’t exactly the same as they’d been using. It’s still an engaging listen.

Review:
This, along with Day For Night were the first two Hip albums I bought first, and I nearly burned this one out. This album is great from beginning to end, and includes what everyone else refers to as “The hockey song about the Leafs”, better known as 50 Mission Cap. Easily my favorite Hip album.

Review:
It was about this time (approximately 1994) that I first heard of the Hip, and thanks to Toronto radio I heard Fire In The Hole and thought it was a pretty cool song. I picked up this and Fully Completely and I was on my way. This is an album that has to be listened to all the way through to be fully appreciated, and every song is a standout.

Review:
A back-to-basics record for the band, the sound is brighter, more stripped down, more straight ahead rock. A fun return to the upbeat Hip, after the somewhat more-experimental sound of Music @ Work and In Violet Light.

The album title is sort of representative, because this album has a bit darker feel than some of the others and while still good, it took a bit more for me to get to like this record.

Review:
This album was the first one I could follow from the time it was released, although I still didn’t get to see them live. Poets kicks things off with a bang, and between Fireworks and my favorite on this one, Bobcaygeon, it’s the Hip in their usual fine form.
