Review:
What an apt title. After Chapter V, I thought Staind was heading back in the right direction. That album was much more dynamic than 14 Shades, and they had a good thing going. The progress was certainly an illusion, because this album went right back to the mid-tempo, boring, plodding, non-exciting Staind that unfortunately got popular. Oh, there’s one or two decent songs (This Is It, Save Me), but for the most part I was wholly underwhelemed with this. As to why I bought it’ Cuz I’m a sucker. I’m a Staind fan from way back, I feel an unnatural compulsion to support them, based on the truly memorable shows and times I had over the course of their first two albums. I keep thinking I’ll re-create that somehow. Maybe next time’
