Review:
Mudvayne’s second disc. They already shed some of the stuff that made LD50 so cool, but it’s still a good nu-metal disc, and still more unique than Lost and Found. Not Falling is the song everyone knows.

I really shouldn’t even own this CD. At least not the way I acquired it. It’s just not fair! While doing my usual perusing of the used section at the Eastview FYE, I checked out the Chimaira section, just for the hell of it. I saw this CD, and said, “nah, can’t be”. But sure enough, the original East Coast Empire Records version of This Present Darkness. But for $6.99′ That’s not even fair.

Review:
The second mainstream release from these Mass metalcorers. I like this even more than This Darkened Heart, because they expanded their style a bit. There’s a little bit of everything metal on some of these songs, and Phil Labonte can growl and scream with the best of them.

Review:
The second installment from the post-Creed band, who kinda fell off the map for awhile. After some trouble with Wind-Up records, including them asking the rest of the band to get back together with Scott Stapp, they gained their release, signed with RCA, and released Blackbird. Usually the sophomore album from a band is suspect, but not this one. This album rocks harder than One Day Remains did, and I think overall is just a better album (not that ODR was bad by any means). The first two tracks, Ties That Bind and Come To Life set the tone for the rest of the album, and it gets better from there. I bought my copy used, so I didn�t get the pack-in �making of� DVD, nor the UK or Best Buy bonus tracks (We Don�t Care At All, The Damage Done, New Way To Live), but due to the wonder of the internet, I have them anyway. Definitely a must-have for rock fans.

Review:
The kids from Coral Springs came back with the sequel to their cheeky EP of movie soundtrack covers, this time expanding it into a full blown 11 songs. It�s still fun, and the song selection is pretty good (Kiss Me, The Promise, King of Wishful Thinking, Iris, Crazy For You, Head Over Heels, etc), but something about it just doesn�t have as much �funness� to it as the original EP did. Not quite sure what it is, but despite that, it�s still a riot to listen to pop-punk bands do covers of songs that would never fit the genre!

Review:
Mudvayne�s third album had them �losing� some of the sound they pioneered on LD50 and �finding� a more mainstream sound. It�s still a pretty good heavy rock record, but some of the weird time signatures and tunings are gone in favor of a more generic sound. Having said all that, there�s some catchy tunes on here, including Determined, Happy’, and Forget To Remember.
