Review:
The boys from the south are back! Alpha rocks harder than anything since self-titled and Home, and the writing has progressed to match. All of the songs were pretty much written lyrically by Morgan, dealing with everything from his divorce, to his dad�s jail time, to his own jail time, and everything in-between. It comes off sounding a bit more mature than some of the other songs he�s contributed to in the past (Enemy comes to mind). Sonny Mayo has been fully integrated into the band, and it shows in a much more cohesive album than Next was. It�s hard to pick any favorites off of this because they�re all good, but I�m leaning towards Clueless, Driven, Beg To Differ, and Aggression as my standouts.

Review:
This Sevendust CD certainly is the “next” chapter in the life of the band, with the one member change, finally getting off of TVT, and other personal changes. The sound is still distinctly Sevendust, and the melody is offset with the heavy riffs. This one leans more in each direction than any of its predecessors though, with a true ballad (Shadows In Red), and some of the hardest stuff they�ve done since self-titled. Put all together, I can�t seem to shake the feeling that I�m listening to 13 distinct songs, and not a complete album like I feel with, say, Animosity. Nonetheless, the album is a very good one. I got the special edition with the pack-in DVD which has about a half-hour of interviews and studio clips on it.

The fourth CD has more groove, just a little less pure agression, and even more musical variety, while still maintaining the trademark Sevendust sound. The bonus pack-in DVD also has a cover of Marvin Gaye�s �Inner City Blues�.

Review:
The sophomore release has just as much intensity as the first, and some more memorable songs, while the band maintains it was rushed and has filler songs on it. The collaboration with Chino Moreno on �Bender� makes for an awesome closer, but it’s hard to “deny” Waffle and Denial as anything but classic 7Dust tunes.

Review:
Sepultura went headlong into the tribal direction that they started on Chaos AD on this one, and the result is something that only vaguely resembles the original thrash the band played, but is still heavy as hell.

Review:
Whereas Arise is probably Sep at their most thrash, this album retained the thrash roots while adding some of the tribal stuff that Max would become famous for. This was the album that propelled Sepultura into the metal mainstream, and gained them a lot of popularity and credibility.
